Introduction

Made from scratch, really good soup, especially on a cold night! Easy & quick to make and very versatile, you may add whatever vegetables you like. Made from scratch, really good soup, especially on a cold night! Easy & quick to make and very versatile, you may add whatever vegetables you like.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 lb extra lean hamburg
    1 onion, sliced
    3 carrots, sliced
    19 oz can diced tomatoes
    couple tomato cans of water
    1 Tbsp chili powder
    2 tsp salt [optional]
    1 tsp pepper
    3 potatoes, diced
    1/2 head cabbage, coarsely chopped
    1 cup or to taste of frozen peas
    1 cup or to taste of frozen kernel corn

Directions

In a Dutch oven or large pot, brown the lean hamburg and onions.
Add the carrots, tomatoes and cans of water.
Stir in the chili powder, salt & pepper
Bring to a boil, add in the diced potatoes.
Cook till vegetables are about half way done.
Add in the cabbage.
When vegetables are all tender, mix in the frozen peas and corn.
Heat through and serve.
*use your favorite vegetables in this soup
*makes a nice meal with a crusty loaf of bread [optional]
