Ingredients

    1# extra lean ground beef
    1onion diced
    1 cup ketchup
    1/3 cup water
    2Tablespoons vinegar
    2tablespoons brown sugar
    2tsp mustard
    2tsp garlic powder
    salt and pepper to taste- although I use none.

Directions

Brown ground beef with chopped onion and drain.
add remaining ingredients, stir and let simmer for 15-20 min.
serve on buns or bread. yum!

  • I would not recommend using both the vinegar and mustard. Combined, they are too overpowering in the recipe. Next time I will use one or the other. - 4/23/13

  • Used ground turkey, tomato paste, beef broth...instead of ground beef, ketchup, and water. Also used spicy brown mustard and added a tad more broth. Easy to make and smells yummy. Can't wait until eating time. Making roasted potatoes for our side. - 4/17/13
