Introduction

I love hummus and have found many variations to be acceptable. I used lowfat buttermilk this time because I had some that I needed to use up before it went bad. I love hummus and have found many variations to be acceptable. I used lowfat buttermilk this time because I had some that I needed to use up before it went bad.

Ingredients

    2 14 oz cans of chick peas
    2-3 tbsp tahini (ground sesame seeds)
    2 tbsp lemon juice
    1/2 cup 1% buttermilk
    4 cloves garlic

Directions

This recipe has to be made to your own personal taste. More or less ingredients can be added as you go. Drain the cans of chick peas 3/4 of the way, put in blender, put the rest of the ingredients in blender. If your blender is like mine and not sophisticated you may have to blend awhile, then stir awhile, blend and stir, until smooth. Serve inside whole wheat pitas with spinach, as a dip for carrots, on top of plain spinach leaves, anyway you like.
