Introduction

Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    8 ounces of pasta (I use bow tie or shells)
    1/2 cup frozen peas
    1 cup of frozen or fresh broccoli
    2 slices of back (lean) bacon
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 pat of butter
    3 cloves of garlic minced
    1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
    1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
    Add salt and pepper as needed.

Directions

Makes about 3 - 2 cup servings.

Boil water for pasta.
While you are waiting for water to boil: Mince 3 cloves of garlic
Heat frying pan to low heat and add olive oil and butter.
After the butter is melted, add garlic.
Chop the bacon into 1/4 inch pieces and put into frying pan to cook with garlic.
Add pasta.
Add red pepper flakes to frying pan and stir.
Add broccoli and peas to frying pan.
Add 2 tablespoons of pasta water to frying pan.
When the pasta is done, add it to the frying pan and mix and let it saute for 2 minutes.
Top with a pinch of shredded parmesan.

    great work. I left out the bacon and added capsicum and onion instead of broccoli and peas. was yummy. - 8/23/11
