Introduction
This spicy variation on traditional Indian yogurt sauce is excellent over rice, curries, or as a lowfat dip! This spicy variation on traditional Indian yogurt sauce is excellent over rice, curries, or as a lowfat dip!Number of Servings: 12
Ingredients
-
1/2 a grated cucumber (no peels)
1 1/4 cup plain yogurt
1-2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Directions
Makes 12 2-Tablespoon servings
Peel cucumber. For a thicker sauce, remove seeds as well. Grate cucumber finely. Combine in a bowl with the yogurt and spices. Stir and allow to chill for about half an hour. The longer it sits the stronger the cayenne will become, so be conservative until it has had a chance to soak in.
I love this over rice, as a dip for veggies, or as a topping for spicy meals such as curries.
