Ingredients

    Red Lentils, 1 cup
    Water, tap, 3 cup (8 fl oz)
    Sunflower Oil, 5 tbsp
    Spices:
    Crushed Chilli
    cinnamon stick- 0.5 inch
    peppercorn x 7
    cloves x 3
    whole baby dried red chilli

Directions

Soak lentels in water for 20 minutes
Then boil in 3 cups of water after 30 minutes
Add spices
And boil until slighty thick..
keep stirring
To finish-
Fry half a garlic clove sliced in 1tbsp of oil with one tsp of zeera and rye balls.
then pour over the lentils, before serving.
Excellent dish!

    This recipe sounds excellent. I love red lentils! However, you don't explain what zeera or rye balls are. - 5/9/07
