Introduction
I loved anything with Cooked Apples. Apple sause, apple pie, and backed apple (insert pastery or ice cream here) so I decided to come up with my own Baked Apples dish. Ingredients
-
4 Mediums Apples, diced (I used Green Apples but any will do)
1/2 cup of Rasians
3/4 cup of Honey
1/3 to 1/2 a cup of Water
Spice to taste with Nutmeg and Cinnamon
Directions
Pre-heat the oven at 350 degrees.
Core the apples and dice them into small pieces.
Take a 1.5 L / 6 cup glass baking dish and spread half (2 apples) of the apples over the bottom
Then sprinkle a .25 of a cup of Raisins over the apples.
Then pour evenly across apples .375 cups (half of the 3/4 cup) of Honey over the diced Apples and Raisins.
Sprinkle Nutmeg and Cinnamon to taste around apples. I used about 2 tsp of Nutmeg and 2 tbsp of Cinnamon.
Then repeat process for the second layer.
Cover with foil or top.
Place in oven for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven, remove foil or top, and toss.
Place in oven for another 20 minutes.
Remove from oven, toss.
Place in oven for another 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve hot or cold!
It goes well on its own, on top of ice cream, or with pork products. Can also be used as a dressing or marinade!
