Introduction

This recipe is the result of finding new ways to use up the green beans from the garden. This recipe is the result of finding new ways to use up the green beans from the garden.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb extra lean ground beef
    1 nedium onion, thinly sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced or put thru press
    3 Tablespoons soy sauce
    1/ & 1/2 cups water
    1 Tablespoon honey
    3 cups fresh green beans
    1 Tablespoon cornstarch
    1/4 cup cold water
    hot cooked rice

Directions

Brown ground beef, onion and garlic in nonstick skillet.
Drain off any fat.
Stir in 1&1/2 cups water soy sauce and honey. Then add green beans and heat til boiling
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes
Blend cornstarch and 1/4 cup cold water, stir into meat mix
Cook, stirring constantly until mix thickens and boils for 1 minute
Serve over cooked rice.

Serves 4. calorie count does not include rice

    The author of this recipe forgot to add the beans.
    Great recipe, easy, healthy, and delicious. I added a Tbl. of sesame seeds.

    Incredible!
    Quite tasty! I used low-sodium tamari and 90% lean beef as that's what was on hand.
    Took a hint from MARICAM3 and added 1 Tbls of sesame seeds to skillet to toast some before starting the browning. This one is a keeper! Thank you!

    Very Good
    I made this the other night and my family REALLY liked it. So did I! I made it Wednesday night and it kept nicely in the fridge. I reheated it for dinner on Fri and it tasted great and we had the last of it tonight Saturday. it is healthy and hearty. I only had raw honey on hand and it worked great! - 10/19/14
