Introduction

A healthy (and tasty!) alternative to pizza. You can substitute any pizza toppings you want - I just used tomatoes and mushrooms, but green peppers would be good too.

This recipe was inspired by a recipe I found on www.faqs.com with no author, but the recipe as listed is my own.

Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 pound ground turkey
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese (although I used 1/2.... 'cause I love cheese. but 1/4 is enough.)
    3/4 cup spaghetti sauce
    1/2 medium onion, minced
1/4 cup bread crumbs (totally optional, but I included them in the nutrition info)
    2 tbsp egg beaters
    1 roma tomato, sliced
    1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
    2 tbsp Italian seasoning

Directions

Preheat oven to 350.
Mix turkey with bread crumbs, egg substitute, onion, and italian seasoning. Lightly grease a 9 inch pie plate (I use olive oil spray.) Press turkey mixture into pie plate until even. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.
Top turkey with spaghetti sauce, cheese, and pizza toppings. Return to oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
Enjoy!
