Ingredients

    1.25 C. flour
    1 t. baking powder
    1/2 t. cinnamon
    1/8 t. salt
    1/4 t. each of clove, dry mustard, dry ginger, allspice, black pepper, and nutmeg
    1 stick unsalted butter
    3 sq. melted and cooled baking chocolate
    1 large egg
    2.5 oz. slivered almonds

Directions

Mix dry ingredients in food processor, add and process butter, then baking chocolate, then egg, then almonds (processing only long enough to mix). On plastic wrap or wax paper, form into a log about 14" long and 2" across. Wrap and freeze. Unwrap frozen log and slice into 48 slender cookies. Bake at 350° F about 8 minutes. They bake fast -- watch closely. Store in a tin.
