Ingredients

    1 tsp. olive oil
    1 cup chopped yellow onion
    1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
    1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
    1/2 cup good red wine, such as Chianti
    1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes or plum tomatoes in puree, chopped
    1 tsp. splenda
    1 tbsp. chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
    1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper

Directions

Heat olive oil in pan. Add onion and saute until translucent. Add garlic and saute until fragrant. Add red pepper flakes and saute. Add wine and cook on high heat until the liquid almost evaporates. Stir in tomatoes, Splenda, parsley, salt and pepper. Return to a simmer, reduce heat to low and cook for 25 to 30 minutes.
