Number of Servings: 11

Ingredients

1.2 lbs Extra Lean Ground Turkey
    1 medium yellow Onion
    3 Cloves of Garlic
2 16oz cans of Reduced Sodium Red Kidney Beans
1 14.5 oz can of Diced Tomatoes
    14 oz of water
1 28 oz can of Whole Peeled Tomatoes
    1 Tbsp Chili Powder
    1/2 Tbsp Black Pepper
1/2 Tbsp Garlic Powder (or to taste)
1 teaspoon ground Cumin (or to taste)
    4-6 Tbsp Hot Sauce (optional)
    Juice of 1/2 a Lime
About a handful of Cilantro chopped

Directions

Brown Trukey,
Chop onion and glaric and cook in olive oil until soft.
Add all ingredients into a large pot and simmer for 30mins to 2 hours. Break up whole tomatoes to desired consistency. I use whole tomatoes because I like a chunckier chili but 2 more cans of diced tomatoes can be easily subsitued instead if you don't want to bother with breaking them up later on.

The sodium content can be greatly reduced by using "no salt added" canned tomatoes, I just didn't have any handy for this recipe.

Makes About 11 1-cup servings.

    Incredible!
Loved this recipe. It was a couple of days after Thanksgiving so I replaced the ground turkey with diced turkey and added it as the last ingredient. Other changes made was fire roasted diced tomatoes in lieu of diced tomatoes. Also topped each bowl w/fat free pln grk yogurt & cilantro. Very spicy!!! - 11/28/12
