Ingredients

    Onions, raw, 3 cup, chopped (remove)
    Garlic, 3 cloves (remove)
    Olive Oil, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Chicken Broth, 6 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)
    *Ham Hock, 1 serving (remove)
    Carrots, raw, 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    Celery, raw, 1 cup, diced (remove)
    Lentils, .5 cup (remove)
    *Emeril's Italian Seasoning, 2.5 tsp (remove)
    Ham, regular (11% fat), .5 cup, diced (remove)
    Ham, regular (11% fat), 1 cup, diced (remove)
    Canned Tomatoes, 2 can (remove)
    Cabbage, fresh, 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), 1 cup (remove)
    Salt, pepper and cayenne

Directions

1. Saute onions and garlic in oil until soft. Add celery and carrots and saute a little more.
2. Add to crockpot with stock, hambone, lentils and herbs. Heat 4 hours on high. Reduce heat to low. Remove hambone and add ham, tomatoes with liquid, cabbage and beans. Cook about 2 hours more and season with cayenne, salt and pepper.
