Ingredients
-
-2 Tablespoons sunflower seeds, hulled, raw. No salt added. These are easy to find in bulk at any natural foods store.
-1 teaspoon tahini
-the juice from 1 lemon wedge
-salt and pepper to taste
-a pinch each of dill, cardamom, and garlic powder
Directions
Please note: this recipe is for one serving. Scale up the recipe if you're making it for more than one person, or make a larger batch and keep it in the fridge. A serving size in that case will be 2 Tablespoons and one teaspoon.
Place all ingredients in a small bowl and blend using a spoon. Spread over toasted bread or use as a pita filling. Could also be delicious over crackers!
If a smoother texture is desired, try blending in a food processor with a small amount of water. You can also try soaking the sunflower seeds first, or allowing them to sprout.
