Introduction

One of my favorite recipe to take to pot luck or just to make and take to work with me.
We used reduced fat crescent rolls.

Ingredients

    1 pound ground beef
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1/4 cup chopped green pepper
    1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
    1 can (14 1/2 oz) green beans, drained
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp garlic salt
    1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated cresccent rolls
    1 egg
    2 cups (8 oz) shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Directions

In a skillet over medium heat, cook beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomato sauce, beans and salts. Simmer for 8 minutes or until heated through. Meanwhile, separate crescent dough into 8 triangles; place in an ungreased 9- in pie plate with points toward the center. Press onto the bottom and up the sides to form a crust; seal perforations.
In a bowl, beat egg and 1 cup cheese; spread over crust. Stir 1/2 cup cheese into meat mixture; spoon into crust. Sprink with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 375 for 20-25 minutes. Let stand for 5 mintues. Yields 8 servings.
