Ingredients

    1 pound dried split peas
    7 c. water
    20 oz low sodium chicken broth
    1 pound smoked turkey sausage (I use hot italian), sliced
    1 1/2 c. chopped carrot
    1 c chopped celery
    2 medium red potatoes peeled and cubed
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp ground oregano
    2 bay leaves
    1 onion, chopped

Directions

Add all ingredients to a 5 quart slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 to 5 hours.

Remove bay leaves before eating!
