Ingredients
-
- 1 pound of lean ground turkey
- 29 oz can tomato sauce
- 27 oz can of chili beans (in chili sauce)
-15.5 oz can dark red kidney beans
- packet of taco seasoning
- packet of chili seasoning
- 1/2 TBSP ground cumin
- 1/2 TBSP garlic powder
- 1 tspn Tony Chacheres Original Creole Seasoning
Directions
In a large pot - simply dump in your beans, tomato sauce, chili seasoning packet, ground cumin, Tony Chacheres, and Garlic Powder. Stir well to combine all ingredients and start warming on medium/low heat. Don't forget to stir frequently.
While the ingredients in your chili are warming up, grab a soup pan and start browning your turkey. Once the turkey is browned, rinse, and add your taco seasoning mix to the browned ground turkey. Follow the directions on the taco seasoning mix.
When your taco meat is ready, add to chili pot, stir, and cook on low heat until all ingredients have reached desired warmth.
Substitute chili powder instead of chili seasoning packet if you want to cut down on the sodium. Substitute a small can of chili beans if you don't like kidney beans.
This is fast, easy and delicious! Nobody will know it is semi-homemade and semi-healthy!
