Introduction

Crunchy, chewy, delicious Crunchy, chewy, delicious
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 cups rolled oats
    1 cup chopped almonds
    1/4 cup sesame seeds
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds
    1/4 cup flax seeds
    1/2 coconut(preferably unsweetened)
    1/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup dried fruit(optional- cranberries, apples, apricots, raisins)
    1/4 cup cooking oil
    1/2 cup honey

Directions

Mix the oats, nuts, and grains in a baking dish or roasting pan. Reserve fruit. Measure oil into the measuring cup and swirl it around before pouring it over the dry mixture. Then measure the honey in the same, unwashed cup. The oil will help the honey exit the cup. Toss everything together until evenly coated. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes, turning with a spatula every 10 minutes. You want everything to be an even golden brown. When finished cooking, allow to cool partially, then stir in dried fruit. Stir several times as it cools to prevent too much clumping. Makes 10 1/2 cup servings.

    Very Good
This is a great recipe. I have been using one very similar for lots of years. My family really likes it too. I like using the honey in it. - 3/16/10
