Introduction

Super simple, and good. Kids like it too. Super simple, and good. Kids like it too.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1-pound lean ground turkey breast
1-28 oz. can Petite diced tomatoes
1-16 oz. can Dark Red Beans
    1-15.5 oz. can Red Beans
    1-15.5 oz. can Pinto Beans
3 tbsp chili powder (or more if you like it hot...kids don't)
    2 tbsp Season Salt (I prefer Morton's Nature's Seasons)
    2 tsp minced Garlic

Directions

Cook ground turkey in skillet with garlic, add some chili powder and season salt.
Mix cooked turkey, all 3 cans of beans, rest of chili powder and salt in pot or slow cooker. All is basically cooked already but can sit and simmer for hours. I start at night and cook till next dinner. This just lets the ingredients absorb the seasonings. But if you're in a hurry it will be ready to eat in 30 minutes once it boils enough. Just takes much better the next day!
We do the same with ground beef or buffalo. The turkey was just a great alternative.
Those that should have so much sodium can use salt alternatives. Canned beans already have some so just use the chili powder if you want.
We add cheese but I didn't put it in the calculations for this recipe. Add if you want. Some put sour cream in. Others put over rice. We don't. We like it as it is.
Can be made without the meat for a veggie chili or put TVPs in for the added texture.
I put that it serves 10. But those are normal sized bowls. We tend to eat two bowls of this....so be aware of that fact.
