Introduction

Ingredients

    1 cup cashew nuts
    375 grams firm tofu - (drain as much of the moisture out as you can using a clean kitchen towel)
    1 cup nutritional yeast flakes
    1 1/2 medium onion
    1/4 cup vegan butter (or buttery tasting margarine!)
    2 tsp salt
    1 tsp brown sugar
    1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    3/4 tsp cumin powder
    1 tsp dried onion flakes
    1 Tablespoon paprika
    1 tsp tumeric powder
    1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
    1 Tablespoon lemon juice
    1 Tablespoon olive oil

Directions

In a food processor, crush the nuts to a fine powder, then add the onion, then the tofu, then all the rest. Blend well. When you first make it, it will taste very strong, but after a few hours in the fridge the flavor mellows a lot.
