This is a nice change from regular cole slaw and makes a nice side dish for pork or chicken. Serving size 1/2 cup = 1 point.
Makes almost a cup. The only sugar comes from the ketchup and the relish but you can use dill relish.
I’ve tried several dishes at Thang Long, but my favorite is the Duck & Cabbage salad. Cabbage is shredded and doused with a dressing of vinegar, fish sauce, chilies and garlic; there are slices of red bell pepper, mint and basil leaves, a sprinkling of peanuts, and best of all, pieces of shredded duck breast.
Including yogurt in the dressing, adding fresh basil instead of dried oregano, and then serving it on a bed of romaine makes this variation on a Greek Salad anything but authentic. But it's still a good salad.
I played around with other recipes, also added a spoon-tip of hot chili paste and juice from lemon to get right consistency. One could add golden raisins or nuts, not included in calorie count.
I grabbed stuff I had in the house to make this salad, and it was delicious. Even the 7 year old loved it.
