This is just a simple recipe I came up with based on several recipes that I read.. This is just a simple recipe I came up with based on several recipes that I read..
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    1 Cup Steel-Cut Oats
    3 Cups Water
    2 tbsp. Brown Sugar
    4 tbsp. Butter
    1/2 Cup Raisins

Directions

Makes 3 servings (each is a little over a cup)

Melt butter in a pan over medium heat, then add oats. Stir oats until they're lightly toasted or for about 2 minutes.

Add Brown Sugar

Add 3 cups of boiling water and reduce heat

Let simmer for 25 minutes, stir once or twice.

Remove from heat and let set for 2 minutes

Add raisins

Serve

    good recipe but.. I have a few additions. I put a tablespoon of flax and protein powder; you don't taste them and it adds that extra little bit of nutrition. I also use a extra strong molasses and stevia for the sweetener. - 9/4/11
