Introduction

Delicious, low-cal drink I found on a forum for moments when you want chocolate. I will be drinking this even after I reach my goal. It is that good. Delicious, low-cal drink I found on a forum for moments when you want chocolate. I will be drinking this even after I reach my goal. It is that good.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 CUP Nonfat (skim) milk
2 TBSP Sugar-Free, Fat Free Chocolate Pudding Mix
    1 TSP Vanilla Extract
    1 TSP Unsweetened Cocoa
1/2 TBSP Splenda (2-3 small packets)
    2 TBL Cool-Whip Free (optional)
    7 Ice Cubes

Tips

Top with whipped cream, if desired.

Directions

Place all in a blender that chops ice well. Blend until all is well mixed and all of the ice is chopped up. Mixture should be nice and thick. I like to pour the drink in a Starbucks cup or some other attractive-looking container!

This recipe makes almost 20 ounces, which I personally think is too much for one serving. I highly suggest dividing this recipe in half or share the full recipe version with someone special.

I tried this a few ways my favorite was to use almond milk and replace the ice with a banana, Just peel slice and freeze the banana It does add flavor but I could not tell it wasn't ice cream

I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk (less calories) 1 tbsp pudding mix. and the rest of the ingredients per the recipe. I add 1tbsp of cool whip free before blending (makes it really creamy). I am a choco-holic and this definitely hits the spot! - 3/15/11

Nice substitute for the real thing and really low calorie count is a plus. I would recommend only putting 5 or 6 ice cubes. It is a little more like a milkshake and not as thick but I found if I added all of the cubes the flavor wasn't as satisfying. Also, you could add peanutbutter, so worth it! - 1/2/09

Although tasty, it was not as thick as I would have liked. It was better after I put it in my freezer for a few minutes. - 5/26/12

Awesome. I only had sugar free vanilla pudding and used that instead with just a little extra cocoa powder for the chocolate, it was awesome! - 11/21/10

What a tastey treat! I made it without the cool whip. Tastes more like pudding than a frosting but it's definitely awesome! Thanks for sharing it :) You're righ--I'll be drinking this even after the weight loss is over. - 6/8/08

It seems to defeat the purpose to modify the recipe as many have described, resulting in much higher calories. - 8/25/13

I would try it with just cocoa powder, vanilla, stevia or (gasp!) a little sugar. No pudding mix, cool-whip, just pure chocolatey goodness. Or try adding non-fat yogurt to add some body. - 8/25/13

I changed this up a bit because I try to stay away from the fake sweeteners as much as I can. Muscle Milk Chocolate powder has more good stuff than bad, so I used 1 scoop of that, plus whole milk instead of skim and extra cocoa powder. I also subbed stevia for splenda and added a banana. Tasty! - 6/13/14

There were three of us so I trippled the recipe, used an entire box of SF pudding mix, a combo of Mocha Mix (lactose intolerant) and a little heavy whipping cream, instead of milk, cap of good vanilla, and 3 instant Starbucks coffee packets. YUM!!! It was like a frosty-frappe! Kids LOVED it!!! - 4/7/13

You could substitute Splenda containing product with a Stevia containing product couldn't you? I mean really folks! Use your imagination and tweak it a bit to contain less processed ingredients if that is what you aim for. If it works well, please post the recipe to share. - 1/20/14

Made as listed, very, very good. I plan to use almond milk and strong coffee next time, in place of the milk. It was plenty sweet for me with 2 packets of Splenda, so may adjust that, but my husband loved it as I made it. - 8/25/13

YUM! I didn't have cool whip so I used whipping cream (whipped it first) and I also used chocolate almond silk milk. Used my nutribullet to whip it up (precrushed the ice first in a ziplock - hit it a few times with the rolling pin). Split the drink with my girlfriend. Fantabulous! - 8/25/13

Pretty darn delicious. My blender couldn't break down my ice cubes completely. May have to smash em up a bit first. Added 1/2 a banana. Very thick and rich tasting. Used almond milk. - 8/25/13

Very chocolaty indeed, but I made half a recipe and it was nowhere near 10 ounces. I used 3 crescent shaped ice cubes. Hardly even a Junior Frosty size, but very tasty. - 2/5/12

I love this recipe and have been making it almost daily. I discovered that some small changes adding very few calories make incredible results! I use 5 or 6 ice cubes, and instead of vanilla, I add almond and coconut extract and some unsweetened toasted coconut flakes. Delecious! - 12/3/15

Used my Nutribullet to make this. It came out grainy and very runny. Will try again using my smoothy maker and maybe less chocolate and ice. The cool whip calories are not included in the full nutritional breakdown so I'm assuming the cool whip is optional for on top of the drink and not in it? - 8/25/13

Delicious shake! I ran out of the chocolate pudding, so I substituted the white chocolate flavor. I used 1% milk instead of the fat-free and I added 2 tablespoons of CoffeeMate Sweet Italian Cream in place of the optional Cool Whip.
