Introduction

Decadent and rich chocolate mousse made from Avocados! MUST TRY!!! So Rich and Creamy! VEGAN RECIPE. Decadent and rich chocolate mousse made from Avocados! MUST TRY!!! So Rich and Creamy! VEGAN RECIPE.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

2 Large Hass Avocados, cubed (about 2 cups)
    1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
2 Tablespoons Omega Nutrition Coconut oil (optional)
2-4 Tablespoons of Organic or Granulated Sugar
    Splash of Water
    1-2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon Balsamic Vinegar (I used white vinegar)
    1/2 teaspoon Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
    1 Cup Cocoa Powder (un-sweetened)

Directions

Add all ingredients except Cocoa Powder into a food processor or blender, pulse until smooth. Add Cocoa Powder to Avocado mixture and blend until smooth. (I added water, because it was too thick for a blender to mix.) Taste, and add more sugar if too bitter and blend.
Refrigerate in a tighly sealed container for up to a week.
Serve with cool whip and your favorite berries and enjoy! This recipe is really rich and you only need the 1/2 cup to satisfy any chocolate craving! Makes 8-- 1/2 cup servings.

I think that's supposed to be TEASPOONS of vanilla. A tablespoon would be an awful lot. It's Renee Loux' recipe and her web site calls for 1 teaspoon for 4 servings. - 10/14/08

This is so rich and wonderful it wows everyone. It's so easy! I'll make it again and again and have already shared it with non-dieters. I might try using less vanilla because 2 tablespoons is a huge amount! - 3/17/10

Awesome!! I too found it a bit dry so added some cashew milk. Might cut cocoa next time. Wasn't sure soy sauce was correct so omitted that. I used agave nectar in place of sugar. - 11/5/09

I found adding a quarter cup of cocoa powder at a time worked better. I only needed about 1 1/4 cup to achieve the taste I preferred. Instead of vanilla extract (1 tsp), I used almond extract. I will definitely use this recipe again. Thanks.

sounds very similar to the one i make. For a variation, you can also add mint extract or fresh mint. If using fresh, you may need to add extra. Taste - 7/15/11

Used 2 tbsp cacao instead of cocoa. Will skip sugar next time.

I only had one ripe medium avocado, so I changed the recipe. I eliminated the coconut oil and sugar, used 1/4 cup cocoa and 2 T Maple Syrup, used 2 T Maple Balsamic Vinegar (incredibly yummy!), added 1 1/2 packets Stevia, 1/2 teas low sodium Tamari, and added about 1/3 C Soy milk. Delicious! - 5/28/13

This is amazing. I omitted the coconut oil and used almond milk sparingly. I think the soy sauce, and balsamic vinegar, add a lot of depth of flavor. It's absolutely amazing! The consistency is creamy and the taste is rich and complex. I'm bringing it to a vegan potluck. - 3/23/13

This had such great flavor! Very rich and creamy! I used 1T vanilla, 2T sugar, skipped the coconut oil, and otherwise made as directed & it was YUMMY. The one down side is that I only got 2 cups total out of it, so my half-cup servings packed more calories. Maybe my avocados weren't big enough? - 3/13/12

I made this with much doubt. I could not picture a pudding tasting anything like chocolate when it contained avocado - and I even like avocado. BUT, it was totally amazing. I have never had anything so good. I did make it with only a few alterations but my calorie information was way more. - 6/28/10

This was AWESOME! I made it using pure clover honey as a cheaper alternative to maple syrup and skipped the granulated sugar. I halved the recipe and used a full tbsp of vanilla and about 1/8 cup of water. - 2/22/10

I saw this recipe and had to try it, but I made it off of memory so my version was 1 avocado 1/4 c. sugar 2 T agave syrup and 1/2 c. dark coco powder. For all my doubts, this was great. Now I will have to make it as listed above. I will make this in the future because it is so quick. - 3/16/09
