Ingredients

35 Saltine crackers, fat free
12 tbsp butter
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
10 oz semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with a non-stick cooking spray.
Line cookie sheet with saltine crackers in single layer.
In a saucepan combine the brown sugar and the butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely.
Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes and spread melted chocolate. Cool completely and break into pieces. Enjoy! :)

This recipe has become a family favorite. I sometimes vary the recipe by using "club" crackers in place of saltines, and milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet. Try sprinkling crushed peanuts or pecans on top -- way too good!! This makes a great snack/dessert to add to a holiday buffet table. - 10/20/09
