This is a fantastic low carb recipe! I used 1/2 c caramel sf syrup as suggested by cyndidavisusa below and reduced the water to 1/2 c. It took about an hour to set up. Eating it fresh out of the oven when it is warm great! - 9/15/11

This is awesome! I used .2 water & .5 SF caramel syrup in place of the sweetener & extract. Next time I will try eggnog or Kahlua flavor. Really easy. I had one for breakfast! My diabetic DH loves it too! Thanks for a great simple low carb recipe! - 11/22/09

    Good
I think it is a good recipe. However in my opinion I would prefer it to be more creamy as opposed to eggy. Well mine turned out eggy when I made it. I wonder if I add a second cup of cream to the recipe if it would come out creamier. THanks for all the great recipies - 4/10/12

    Good
It tastes okay...I think I was expecting more of what's inside some donuts, lol...this has a strong egg flavor to me. - 9/3/10

Yes... it's a flan or similar to a custard pie, not a gooey custard pudding found in a donut... LOL!! Although I agree, that would be delicisious!! I suppose you could make it sweeter to hide the egg taste, but I love it as it is for my low carb breakfast alternative.
