Introduction

Cabbage chili, Phase 2 of HCG diet safe. Cabbage chili, Phase 2 of HCG diet safe.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

100 grams lean ground beef or chicken breast
    100 grams cabbage
    100 grams ripe tomato
    2 Cups water
    *1 tsp ground cumin
    *1 tsp chili powder
    *1 tsp ground thyme
    *1 tsp oregano
    *2 cloves garlic
    *salt and pepper

Cook meat, and minced garlic, add 2 cups water and spices. When water is very hot, add cabbage. Cook until cabbage is tender, then add tomato. The longer you cook the tomato, the softer it will become. The more garlic is cooked, the more it loses it's taste.

*This is a suggestion. Use enough it tastes good.

Loved this...........I actually made it twice today once with beef for lunch and once with chicken for dinner. I used salsa for tomatoes and I just seasoned until I liked it. Thanks : ) - 3/30/10

If you go back and read Dr. Simeon's protocol, he lists tomato as a vegetable. If you are following protocol to the letter- which will give you the best results, you cannot combine vegetables. So tomatoes plus cabbage is not allowed. - 4/5/12

I made this and omitted the tomato as I am in Phase 2 and you are not supposed to mix your veggies. I loaded up the pepper and garlic. I like my cabbage not very soft so I just put it in at the last few minutes. Yummy! Can't wait to phase 3 to add the tomato and spinach! - 2/11/11

Loved it, eventhough I didn't add it altogther as a chili the flavors really melded well. I spread my cabbage (raw) on a plate smeared a little of the tomatoe salsa (HM) and then topped it with chicken. - 12/30/10

This would be a good recipe for Phase 3. You can't mix your veggies in Phase 2. It sounds yummy and I can't wait to try it in phase 3 :) - 4/17/10

Take the tomato out & it can be used for P2 but you can NOT combine veggies. And tomatoes are listed as a veg in the protocol. - 9/8/12

I absolutely love this and I hate cabbage. I added 2 tsp of cumin because I like it extra smokey flavored. The longer you let it cook the better it gets and super filling. - 11/20/11

Awesome! I don't like cabbage was and looking for ideas to add it in, without tasting it. I used ground turkey breast and added onion and extra chili powder to mine. Tasted fantastic. Loved it. Highly recommend. - 9/12/11

Tomatoes are a fruit, commonly used as veggie. So I don't see why you can have for both P2 & P3. This is super tasty. - 4/21/11

Can't you count the tomatoe as a fruit? That would make this recipe ok for phase 2. - 9/28/10
