Ingredients

    2 tbs olive oil
    1 cup finely diced onion
1 cup finely diced bell pepper
    1 cup finely diced celery
    5 garlic cloves, minced
    2 small cans tomato paste
    1 small can tomato sauce
3 (28-ounce) can crushed or diced tomatoes, including liquid
    3 tablespoons Italian Seasoning
Salt to taste (I used 1/4 tsp for nutritional info)
    Black Pepper to taste

Directions

Saute Onions, Celery and Bell Peppers in Olive oil until clear. Add Garlic and stir in for about a minute until it releases aroma. Add all of the tomato products and stir until smooth. Add Salt, Pepper and Italian seasoning and blend. Cook for about 15 minutes to desired thickness. If it thickens too much add a little water to smooth out.

Makes approximately 8 3/4-cup servings.

Serve with Pasta of choice and Garlic bread.

Enjoy

This was an incredibly easy sauce to make. We put it over whole wheat thin spaghetti and loved it. My family wants it again. - 3/26/10

This is a great tasting recipe. I pureed 1 can of rinsed chickpeas and added. This made the sauce thicker and "meatier" - 4/10/10
