Ingredients
-
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup organic cane sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 10oz can of frozen unsweetened orange juice from concentrate
2 tbsp molassas
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
8 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups archer farms (target brand) cashew cranberry almond blend
1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
Directions
mix the first 8 ingredients in a large bowl, then slowly add the oats, nut mix and coconut. this will be very hard to mix with a spoon, so i usually use my hands when adding the last 3 ingredients.
preheat oven to 300 degrees (this will be turned down once you place your granola in the oven)
spread out the mixture on 2 non-stick baking sheets.
place in oven for 15 minutes, turning the oven temp down to 200.
after 15 minutes, gently stir, you will want to leave this a bit chunky, so the more gently you stir, the chunkier the granola will be.
now, turn the oven temp down to 125 degrees, another gentle stir, swap racks, leave in the oven for an hour. this is a drying process.
turn the oven off, leave the granola in the oven over night and in the morning, your breakfast is ready!! store leftovers in tupperware of baggies and freeze up to several months, if you dont eat it all before then!
Makes 22-1/2 cup servings
