Introduction
1 cup = 1 serving 1 cup = 1 servingNumber of Servings: 10
Ingredients
-
1 1/2 cups onion, chopped very fine
2 1/2 cups cooked low-fat ham, diced into small cubes
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
5 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 package Primo Whole Wheat Spaghettini, break into thirds before cooking
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 cup Classico Basil Pesto sauce
3/4 cup Kraft Light Parmesan cheese
Directions
1. Fry onions and ham (medium heat) in Olive Oil until onions are very soft. About half-way through cooking, add 5 cloves of the pressed garlic – keep stirring so that the garlic does not burn. Turn off when done cooking but leave in frying pan.
2. While the onions/ham are cooking, get the pasta going. In a large pot, add oil and salt to water for cooking pasta. Bring to a boil. Break pasta into thirds and add to water, stir well so that it doesn’t stick together. Cook until el dente.
3. Drain and rinse pasta. Put pasta in a large bowl. Add the onions and ham mixture and mix well.
4. Add 3 more cloves of crushed garlic, mix well.
5. Stir the pesto sauce before scooping out (the oil separates a bit from the Pesto). Add to the pasta and mix well.
6. Add Parmesan cheese, mix well.
This can be served hot or at room temperature.
