Introduction

This recipe is always a hit, and very easy to make. This recipe is always a hit, and very easy to make.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    24 WHOLE Water Chestnuts
1/2 cup Diana Sauce Gourmet Rib & Chicken BBQ Sauce
12 strips of Maple Leaf Lazy Maple Bacon

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. You can either use a broiling pan, or line a cookie sheet with foil for easy clean up! If using a cookie sheet, place a rack on top of it so that the grease can drip off of them.

3. Cut the bacon in half. Wrap each water chestnut with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. If you don't have a toothpick, just tuck the loose end underneath and place on your rack.

4. Bake on middle rack of 350° oven for 45 minutes.

They can be frozen at this point after you have let them cool.

5. If you are serving immediately, brush each piece with Diana’s BBQ sauce. I sometimes will add a touch of spicy sauce to the Diana's sauce for extra flavour. Put back in the oven for another 15 minutes.

    Very Good
I have made these before but this time used turkey bacon to reduce fat content. It was good. Used shrimp cocktail sauce, creamy horse radish sauce, and ranch dressing as dipping choices in addition to the traditional barbecue sauce. All were yummy. - 2/25/13
