Introduction

I came up with this as an alternative to hamburgers. This is vegetarian. I came up with this as an alternative to hamburgers. This is vegetarian.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    2T olive oil (save 1.5 of it for frying)
    1 med onion diced fine
    1 clove garlic minced
    1 C chopped mushrooms(fresh)
    1/4 C finely chopped bell pepper
    1/2 C chpped celery stalks with leaves
    2 C cooked brown rice (cold)
    1 egg
    1 egg white
    1/2 t each salt free seasoning(like Mrs. Dash), dried rosemary, and basil
    1/4 t paprika
    1/2 C seasoned bread crumbs

Directions

Ina non-stick skillet sautee the veggies and garlic til tender. Add seasonings cook a few min longer. Allow to cool slightly, miw with cold rice, eggs and bread crumbs. With a hand blender blend lightly (should not be smooth). Form into patties fry in 1.5 T olive oil til done and golden brown (about 3 min per side)

Makes 6 hamburger bun sized patties.
