Introduction

Ingredients

    Crust:
    2 cups of flour
    1 cup of shortening
    mix these ingredients until crumbly then
    make a paste of 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup water mix together and add to crumble mixture.
    Filling:
    3 cups of berries
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 tablespoon of butter or margarine
    1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
    1/4 cup of flour
    1/4 cup of water

Directions

Crust:
mix first 2 ingredients until crumbly and then add paste of flour and water. Roll into bottom crust and add berries then make strips of remaining dough and place on top of berries. You can make a solid top crust if prefered but do make a hole for steam to escape pie.

Filling:
Mix all ingreadients together and place in bottom crust and then add strips or top crust. (optional: sprinkle small amount of sugar and cinnamon on top crust)
Bake in 345 degree oven until crust is golden brown.
makes one 9 inch pie with 8 servings.
