Ingredients

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    Garlic
    Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
    Fresh Basil
    Uncooked Shrimp
    Whole Wheat Pasta
    Salt and Pepper to taste
    Fresh grated parmesan (optional)

Directions

1. Put olive oil in medium sautee pan. Heat on Medium-low. When warm, put shrimp in pan. Cook three minutes on each side, or until pink. Begin heating pasta water (be sure to salt water liberally).
2. Add garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook 3 minutes. Add fresh basil, salt and pepper. Continue to stir occassionally.
3. When pasta water is boiling, add pasta. Let cook according to package. Toward end of cooking, add a little of the pasta water to the shrimp to make a sauce.
4. When cooked, drain pasta and add to shrimp. Stir. Serve in large dish and top with parmesan cheese, if desired.
