Ingredients

1/4 cup 100% pure Maple Syrup (do not use syrup substitutes)
1/4 cup Dijon mustard (with whole mustard seeds)
2 salmon steaks (4 oz each)

Directions

Place salmon steaks in a Ziplock bag with all ingredients and marinate for at least 1 hour, the longer the better, I always marinade overnight.

Grill on BBQ on medium heat for 2-4 minutes each side, do not overcook salmon or it will be dry, a salmon steak this size would not need to cook more than 8 minutes on a BBQ.

If you do not have a BBQ then place salmon steak in tin foil with small amount of marinade liquid and seal tin foil so it makes an air tight pouch to hold the salmon (or use parchment paper) and bake in oven at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.

I would never have though to use these 2 simple ingredients together, what an amazing flavor this added to the salmon, I use this marinade for chicken as well, my family loves it, even the kids will eat it and they hate fish ! - 6/9/10

Made this last night. Used fillets instead of steaks. Like LALONGI9, I too threw some asparagus on the grill. Was fantastic!!! My gf who is not a fish eater really enjoyed this as well. Will be adding this one to the rotation. - 10/24/16
