Ingredients

    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1/2 c salad oil
    2 eggs
    2 cups buttermilk
    2 1/2 cups flour
    2 1/2 tsp baking soda
    2 cups all bran
    1 cup 100% bran
    1 cup boiling wter

Directions

cream sugar and oil, add egss and buttermilk. then add dry ingredients. Pour 1 cup boiling water over the 100% bran, may add raisins or nuts. bake in lg muffin tin 400 degrees for 22-24 minutes, can store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks. actually better after 1-2 days in fridge

    If there is 1 1/2 cups of sugar in the recipe - then how does it qualify as "sugar free"? I was excited about this recipe until I read it..... - 6/11/10

    The point is that this recipe is in the Sugar-Free category, yet the first ingredient is 1 1/2 cups of sugar! Doesn't anybody check these things? - 9/14/11

    you can use splenda if that is available where you are, i always substitute that in for sugar in many recipes, that would work tremdously! enjoy! - 12/28/10
