Ingredients

    Wakame slaw:
1 cup fresh wakame, julienned, see note
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons naturally brewed soy sauce
    1/2 jalapeño, seeded and julienned
    Olive oil
4 (3-ounce) pieces of ahi tuna
    Salt and pepper, to taste
    4 slider buns, halved

Directions

1. Combine first 5 ingredients and set aside.
2. In a medium sauté pan over high heat, add a small amount of olive oil. Heat until the oil smokes lightly, season the tuna liberally and sear in the sauté pan 1 minute each side.
3. Let tuna rest for 2 minutes, slice and place on bottom bun. Garnish top with wakame slaw.
Makes 4 sliders
Note: Wakame is a Hawaiian word for seaweed. It’s commonly found in Asian cooking. It’s different from nori, or rolling sushi. Find fresh wakame dried or in a refrigerated, sealed package.
