Ingredients
-
1/3 Fava Beans
1 can Garbanzo Beans
2.5 Tbsp Tahini
1 bunch fresh mint
1-2 sprigs of parsley or cilantro
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tsp cumin
juice 1/2 lemon
S&P
water
Directions
Fava beans - if you get fresh boil them first in the pod and once cooled remove the beans from the shell. The fava bean has a hard other shell on the bean itself that needs to be removed first.
In a blender add the mint and parsley or cilantro, a little salt and give it a whirl until chopped.
Add the fava beans, 1 can of drained and rinsed Garbanzo beans, tahini, cayenne, cumin, lemon juice, S&P, a a little bit of water and blend.
Keep adding a small amount of water until the puree is the consistency you want.
This can also be used as a sauce for fish, shrimp, chicken and pork.
Very tasty and you can also adjust the heat by adjusting the cayenne and cumin.
