Ingredients

    10 slices bread
    2 preserved lemon halves (or lemon preserves)
    2 tsp honey
    1 tsp crushed red pepper
    1 tbsp minced ginger
    10 thin slices hard Italian cheese

Directions

Toast bread. Arrange on a platter. Chop lemons and remove seeds. Place in a processor with honey, red pepper and ginger. Make smooth paste. Spread on toast and top with cheese cut into triangles. Serve as is or heat oven to 350 F and cook a few minutes to melt cheese.

Serves 6-8.
