Introduction

This rice goes well with Smoked Paprika Garlic Chicken. I use homemade broth but you can use store bought. Use either turmeric OR saffron. Basmati rice is best but any long grain will do. Ingredients

    4 T butter, unsalted
    1/4 cup onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 1/2 cup basmati rice, uncooked
    2 cups chicken broth
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 tsp turmeric or 1 vial saffron
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp lemon juice

Directions

Melt butter in saucepan and saute onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Add rice and saute for 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
