Ingredients

    2 tbsp olive oil
    2.5 tbsp flour
    0.5 tbsp basil
    1tsp kosher salt
    0.5tbsp black pepper
    2 cups milk

Directions

heat oil over low heat
add flour and simmer over low heat for 2-3 minutes wisking till combined
add milk slowly while wisking until about 1 cup has been added
turn heat to high and wisk vigorously and continuously until bubbles form.
add remaining milk and reduce heat to medium (continue wisking)
season to taste
take off heat just before desired thickness as the gravy will continue to thicken after being removed from the heat
makes about 1.5 cups of gravy or 6 0.25 cup servings
