Number of Servings: 8


    1 cup of sugar
    1/4 cup of self rising flour
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1 tbsp butter
    1 double pack frozen pie crust (thawed)
    1 beaten egg yolk (OPTIONAL)
    2 tsp vinegar (OPTIONAL)


Make 8 slices

Peel and thinly slice apples (making sure to remove the core)
Place the sliced apple in a large bowl and add Vinegar,Flour,Cinnamon and sugar! Mix well set aside
Preheat oven to 350
Beat egg yolk well(set aside)
Place apple mixture into pie crust
Gently spread out 2nd pie crust on top of the mixture and crimp the edges.
With a pastry brush ,gently brush yolk onto crust (for shine)
Cut a few slices in the top of pie and Bake for 50 min or until crust is a Nice brown all over.

    It's in the oven now, TeaLover! I'll try to remember to come back and let you know how it turned out! I used a milk wash to brown it better instead of the egg, and cut the sugar in half. Do you know you don't tell us here what to do with the butter? I dotted it on top of the apples. Hope it's ok - 9/26/10
