Makes enough dough for two pizzas. Makes enough dough for two pizzas.
Number of Servings: 8

    1 1/2 c. water
    2 T. olive oil
    3/4 t. salt
    2 T. garlic powder
    1 T. oregano
    4 c. whole wheat flour
    1/4 c. vital wheat gluten
    2 1/2 t. yeast

Dough yields 2 two pizza crusts, with a serving equal to one quarter of one pizza.

Add ingredients to bread machine in order listed. Run dough cycle on machine (mine takes 1.5 hours). Divide dough in half. Roll each out into one crust, brush lightly with olive oil if desired.
At this point you can bake the crust for 5-7 minutes at 450 degrees, then freeze for later use, or top directly and bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
If you freeze it, you can put toppings on the frozen crust, then bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

  • Excellent recipe. The dough came out great and was so easy to shape. It did not keep stretching back. I really like the fact you can freeze after par baking. I did add 1.5 tsp of sugar but followed exactly otherwise. Thanks for a healthy pizza dough recipe. - 9/20/14
