Ingredients
-
1.73 lbs lean ground beef
2 cups frozen corn
16 oz. Bush's Navy Beans
16 oz Bush's Light Red Kidney Beans
15 oz Ranch Style Black Beans
14.5 oz Del Monte Diced No Salt Added Tomatoes
29 oz hunt's Tomato Sauce
2 tbsp minced garlic
Diced Medium Onion
1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp thyme
Directions
Makes 10 Servings
Brown meat, onion, garlic, and spices. Once fully cooked drain the meat.
Drain the canned beans and put in slow cooker.
Add meat to slow cooker.
Add corn to slow cooker.
Cook on high for about 2 hours or on low for 6 hours. This dish is super versatile.
Serve with cornbread and maybe a bit of cheese on top!
This recipe would have way less salt if I used dry beans instead of canned. Enjoy! Also, add spices to your taste. Most spices are pretty free of calories, so just add what you like. I find most chili recipes to be a springboard, not a steadfast recipe! :)
