    2 1 oz. slices of Low Fat Cheddar Cheese

    1 Pat Butter

    1 Tablespoon, Olive Oil

    2 Slices, Whole Grain Wheat Bread or Sugar Free Low Carb Bread


Heat a non-stick pan until hot, place the butter and oil inside and heat until butter is melted, lightly tap the bread slices; each side until coated with the oil mixture. Remove to quickly to prevent getting soggy, place onto a dish and set aside.

Once all slices are coated to your liking, return to the hot pan and brown slightly on (1) side, flip over each and place the cheese onto the bread and close together. Allow each side to brown slightly, cover with lid and turn off the heat. Allow to sit until cheese is melted and remove promptly.

  • Great recipe. I haven't grilled cheese for a long time. My neighbor's little boy is coming for after school and supper for the next 2 weeks. I will make this for him and I think I will give it a try too after so many years. It sounds really good. Looking forward to tonight when Jesse comes. - 2/12/18

  • This is very similar to how I made my last grilled cheese -minus the oil for frying. I was surorised at how easy it was as opposed to using a sheet and the oven (as my Mom used to d when we were growing up). - 1/17/16
