Introduction

This is a very simple version that's been handed down for a few generations now. I've modified it a little to make it slow cooker friendly. Can be served on its own or over egg noodles. Ingredients

    2 lbs sirloin, cut into cubes and patted dry with a paper towel
    3 tbs butter, divided
    1 onion, diced
    2 cups beef broth
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
    1.5 tbs tomato paste
    3 tbs sherry
    Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Pat the sirloin dry with a paper towel and brown in batches in the butter. (Can make this more healthy by omitting the butter. Comes out to 353 a serving instead of 404).
Add beef and remaining ingredients to a slow cooker and cook over low for about 4 hours.
