Introduction
Something I've started doing to either grill up and eat as-is, or to add to stir-fry recipes. Very tender, very flavorful. Everybody always asks me where I buy the marinade! Ingredients
-
1 lb Flank Steak
2 tbsp Sesame Oil (approx)
6 tsp Worcestershire Sauce (approx)
4 tsp Gravy Master (approx)
1 tsp Garlic Powder (approx)
1 tsp Onion Powder (approx)
Salt
Pepper
Meat Tenderizer
Directions
1. Tenderize the meat by stabbing it 30-40 times with a fork on each side. This allows the marinade to full penetrate and tenderize the meat, improving both the texture and the flavor
2. On each side, lightly coat the steak with meat tenderizer first and then follow with the garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper to taste
3. With a basting brush, fully coat each side of the steak with Sesame Oil. Remember to brush both vertically and horizontally, and to cover both sides with each sauce before moving onto the next step.
5. Fully coat each side of the steak with Worcestershire sauce
6. Fully coat each side of the steak with Gravy Master (or other alternative browning and seasoning sauce). At this point, the steak will appear black. This is normal.
7. Wrap steak and allow to marinate over night.
8. Grill steak, but keep in mind that it is thin. The browning sauce will slightly char the outside even when cooked rare.
9. Slice thinly.
