Introduction

My family's traditional recipe altered with cheddar instead of mozzarella. My family never really liked the texture of ricotta that is why the cottage cheese. I need to tweek it to make it healthier, so any suggestions are welcome. My family's traditional recipe altered with cheddar instead of mozzarella. My family never really liked the texture of ricotta that is why the cottage cheese. I need to tweek it to make it healthier, so any suggestions are welcome.

Ingredients

    1 lb. lasagna noodles
    1 25 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
    2 cups shredded chedder cheese
    1 16oz container of cottage cheese
    1 egg medium
    3 Tbsp garlic powder
    2 Tbsp italian seasoning
    2 tsp ground black pepper
    1 lb. lean ground beef

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook lasagna noodles until al dente. Brown ground beef. Mix together egg, garlic, pepper, italian seasoning and cottage cheese. Spray pan with non-stick spray. Begin with a layer of noodles, then sauce, ground beef, and cottage cheese mix and shredded cheese. Continue layering until either pan is full or ingredients are used up. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min or until cheese is lightly browned on top.
