Introduction

Ingredients

    1 lb. lean stew meat
    1 beef bullion cube or 1 cup beef broth
    1 medium onion, cut in large chunks
    1 small stalk of celery, sliced 1/8"-1/4"
    1/2 head cabbage, cut in large chunks
    1 medium russet potato, cut in large chunks
    6 cups water
    1 whole bay leaf (will be removed later)
    2 whole black peppercorns
    dash of oregano, rosemary
    salt to taste, kosher cooks best

Directions

Put meat in water with beef broth (or bullion cube). Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to med-high, add onion, celery, peppercorn, salt, bay leaf, oregano and rosemary. Reduce heat to medium, keep at a low boil for 30-40 minutes. Add cabbage and potato and keep at low boil for 15-20 minutes. Reduce heat to low until ready to serve.
