    1/2 cup fat free sour cream
    1 can low sodium cream of mushroom soup
    8oz (1/2 lb) extra lean ground turkey
    2 cups mushrooms (sliced or pieces)
    2 tsp minced or pressed garlic
    Water as needed


Brown the turkey and then drain. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms soften a bit. Add the mushroom soup, sour cream and enough water to loosen it up if it gets too thick (usually half a soup can works). Simmer for five minutes or until it's heated through.

Serving Size: 4 servings of about 1 cup of sauce each depending on how much water is added.

  • I was desperately missing stroganoff but this is a worthy replacement. I used it on brown rice with a bit of low-sodium Parmesan and some Mrs. Dash for excellent results. - 4/23/11
